Description
Talacauvery is one of the important pilgrimage centers of Hindus, situated in the Coorg District where the river Cauvery, one of the major rivers in peninsular India, originates. At about 1,276 meters above sea level, Talacauvery lies in the Brahmagiri hills.
Though the prime attraction at Talacauvery is a small temple dedicated to Goddess Kaveriamma, the most important is a holy Kundike—a water tank—considered the origin of the river. The history runs in such veins that pilgrims visit and dip in the very same tank, for it is believed to be purifying. Other principal deities like Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesha have shrines within this temple complex. Contact us on connect@youtellme.ai.
