Baz Bahadur Palace
The Baz Bahadur Palace is one of the exquisite monuments of the 16th century located in the center of Mandu. Constructed by Sultan Baz Bahadur, these palace has large courtyards, enrich designs and peaceful atmosphere prevailing the place. It is a historical site because of its interesting combination of Rajasthani and Mughal style of architecture. This palace indeed is a testimony of the true love story of Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati located on the top of the Rewa Kund. Rani Roopmati Pavilion This is the Rani Roopmati Pavilion which sits on a hill, and provides wide-angle view of the Narmada River and the green vegetation of the Mandu Fort. It was constructed first as a strategical post of the military but was converted into a loving couple’s nest by Baz Bahadur for Rani Roopmati. Due to the sophisticated design as well as location of the pavilion, it is one of the most frequented by tourists who come to explore Mandu. Rewa Kund Rewa Kund is an ancient water tank which is religious and historically linked with the love legend of Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati with being located in Mandu. This sacred tank is said to have been built to maintain water for Rani Roopmati’s chhatris or pavilion.
